2 cups ginger ale

Frozen Guava Margaritas

How did you celebrated 5 de Mayo? We were lucky to have a huge block party around the neighborhood. But before hitting the party scene, the hubby and I hosted a pre-game at our place. We wanted to make something special, but also easy to make. After evaluating lots of options, we decided to go with the Frozen Guava Margarita… Simple, festive and quite delish.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups guava juice
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 3/4 cup premium silver tequila
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 3 tablespoons simple syrup*
  • Lime wedge and salt or sugar for rimming glasses
  • Lime slices, for garnish

Direction

Rub a lime wedge around the edges of margarita glasses and dip immediately in coarse sugar.  Place in freezer for 10 minutes.  In a blender, combine the ice, lime juice, tequila, triple sec, simple syrup, and guava juice.  Blend until combined and the ice cubes are crushed.  Pour into the chilled glasses, garnish each with a lime slice, and serve immediately.  Serves 4. (source)

St. Patricks: Pot of Gold

This champagne cocktail becomes Irish with a splash of whiskey. Add some fresh pear juice and lemon, for the perfectly palatable and not too rough around the edges drink. If your hosting a St. Patricks get together with friend or just a pre-game at your place this will be perfect cocktail. Simple, festive, and just Irish enough. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Click here for recipe.

Ciao - Mai Tardi

A bit sad to say goodbye to one of my favorite places in Design District. But Mai Tardi is not closing its door without the appropriate celebration. Their last bash will take place tomorrow Wednesday Feb 8, from 7pm to closing. And it will include some artist, music and a prosecco bar. I’m so there!!

Red Wine Lollipop

I went crazy when I found this recipe! You should know by now that I’m a huge fan of a good and creative cocktail. I’ve seen a lot of alcohol Lollipops lately, but never one made with wine. So here it is! If you decide to get fun and creative this weekend, I recommend giving this one a try. Specially with Valentines coming up;-) Salud via gastrogirl red wine lollipop.
