ART DECO CHIC!

Although Sofia Vergara didn’t make it to our Best Dressed nominees, her hair and makeup sure did. Once again she looked flawless at the SAG Awards 2013, and we have her beauty secrets… right from her lead makeup artist Kayleen McAdams.

“I wanted to do something fresh and new on Sofia. Her white dress gave me a bare canvas for her face, and I was able to bring an element of color with a purple eye shadow. We have never done a bright color shadow for an award show so this was our first!” - Kayleen McAdams

Get the look:

Face - I started by applying COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in Classic Tan (#860) all over Sofia’s face, and then used COVERGIRL + Olay Pressed Powder in Medium along her T-Zone to set the product so it would last all night. I then applied Cheekers Blush is Classic Pink to make her look bright and fresh.
Eyes - With the eyes, I applied SmokyShadowBlast in Purple Plume all over the lid and then smudgedQueen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner in Cabernet all along her top and bottom lashes. I finished the look with three coats of Very Black Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara.
Lips - I applied LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved over the entire lip and then topped with theLipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Rose Twist to give a hint of glossy sheen.

Estée Lauder Mad Men Collection

Inspired by AMC Drama Mad Men, Estée Lauder will introduce two limited edition makeup collections. The first Estée Lauder Mad Men Collection will debut in March 2012, just in time with the premiere of Season Five (March 25), and the second collection will launch with Season Six in 2013.

The first collection features two classic makeup items inspired by the makeup look of the women featured in Mad Men’s 1960s New York City setting — See Betty Draper and Joan Holloway above. Bold, red creamy lips and rouged cheeks definitely defined this beauty era. (source)

COVERGIRL Sofia Vergara looked absolutely radiant at the annual Vanity Fair Oscars party in Hollywood. Her official makeup artists Kayleen McAdams, sister of actress Rachel McAdams, gives us the insights on how to achieve Sofia’s red carpet look!

Inspiration: Sexy Italian movie star, Sophia Loren.

Face: I first applied COVERGIRL NatueLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg all over her face, blending into the neck. I then used COVERGIRL TRUconceal Concealer in #4 under the eyes and around the edges of the nose, just where needed to keep the makeup from looking heavy. To set the look, I used COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Soft Honey, but kept it light to keep from looking cakey.

Eyes: I wanted to do a heavily lined eye to give it that sexy Italian feel, so I used COVERGIRL Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner in Truffle and applied a thick line from the inner to outer corner, giving it a wing shape.

Lips: I lined the lips first with COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved and then filled them in with COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Entwined using a lip brush. I then went back over with the lip liner to prevent the lipstick from bleeding.

What’s in the clutch! Before she left for the party, I gave Sofia the powder and lip products we used so she could easily touch herself up throughout the night if she had to.

COVERGIRL Rocks the Golden Globes

COVERGIRL Sofia Vergara stunned everyone last night in a Vera Wang gown while delivering a natural youthful makeup look. Sofia’s hit show Modern Family took home the Golden Globe for best TV comedy series but it was her speech that stole the show!

Here are the details on how to achieved her natural yet so glam look from her own makeup artist, Kayleen McAdams.

Face: I started by applying TRUconceal Concealer #4 under the eyes and around the nose. I then applied NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg with a sponge and set that with Clean Pressed Powder in Soft Honey. I chose a plum toned blush Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow and applied it along the cheekbones and apples of the cheeks.

Eyes: I applied Eye Enhancers 3-kit Shadow in Golden Sunset all over the lid and into the crease and then applied three coats of LashBlast 24HR Mascara to the top lashes and one coat on the bottom.

Lips: I applied LipPerfection Lipcolor in Everlasting first and then applied LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved. Application Tip: This keeps the lipstick from bleeding, but makes it easier to apply the line with the moisture of the lipstick.

What’s in the clutch? When she was ready to hit the red carpet, I sent Sofia on her way with powder, lip pencil and lipstick for reapplication.
